“Pop Crimes” by Rowland S. Howard
Rowland S. Howard will long be remembered for his fierce guitar work with The Birthday Party, but lately I’ve been blown away by the solo records he made late in life with Mick Harvey. This music is dark, brooding, and mature without being boring. I’d love to hear more, but Howard died two months after the Pop Crimes album came out. Not every life story has a third act.
