“Little Red Riding Hood” by The Meteors

Here’s another rad pyschobilly cover from the fathers of psychobilly themselves, The Meteors, with their version of “Little Red Riding Hood”.  Unbelievably, The Meteors actually managed to make this song, which is definitely about stalking someone, a hair creepier than the original by Sam The Sham & the Pharoahs.  Something about those reverb drenched Bigsby bending guitars and P. Paul Fenech’s super gravely voice works so well to make this tune sound that much more suspenseful and foreboding.  If I was ever being chased by a murderous maniac through the foggy nighttime streets of San Francisco, this is the song I would hope they would pick for the soundtrack of the televised dramatic re-enactment.  This is good stuff by one of the innovators of the genre.
