“Moon Over Marin” by Dead Kennedys is a beautiful oddity. Instead of their patented let’s-kill-the-landlord frenzy, this song plays like an elegy. It sounds almost like something Neil Young might have recorded with Crazy Horse. If you’re not the kind of person who pays attention to lyrics, make an exception for this song: It’s like a genuinely heartfelt variation of “What A Wonderful World” from the soiled and tattered future we’ll be handing our kids someday.
